Job Title: Full Time Helpdesk IT Support Engineer (1st / 2nd Line)

The support team handle a wide range of support requests and can often get involved in presales technical enquiries.

 

Job Position Summary:

 

Due to our ongoing success we are looking to recruit another member of staff for our internal helpdesk. The support provided will include fault diagnosis and rectification of Internet connectivity, Email including Microsoft Exchange environments, Microsoft Windows desktop, Office and server platforms, antivirus and firewalls.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Provide support to customers via telephone, email and remote control for the range of products and services that S2 Technologies provide
  • Complete IT administration requests
  • Take responsibility of issues and requests keeping the customer informed at all times
  • Diagnose and resolve customer problems, escalating when necessary.
  • Handle general customer enquiries
  • Liaise with third party organisations
  • Provide reports to the client and the company

 

The Person:

 

You will have excellent communications skills and work well as part of a small team whilst being able to manage your own workload and time management. You will be enthusiastic with excellent problem solving skills. You will have a desire to continue learning and developing your knowledge and skills maintaining a keen interest and passion for IT.

 

Education / Qualification:

 

  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs
  • 2 A Level passes or equivalent
  • Post Secondary School education relating to IT, qualifications or training desirable

 

Skill Requirements:

 

  • Experience in providing IT support ideally in a helpdesk environment
  • Technical knowledge of Microsoft Windows Desktop, Office and Server environments
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve problems
  • Good time management and prioritisation
  • Initiative and self-motivated
  • A professional working attitude
  • The ability to learn and develop new product knowledge and skill sets
  • Reporting

 

Experience in the following Technologies would be advantageous:

  • Windows 7, 8 and 10 Professional
  • Office 2010 – 2016
  • Macos
  • Apple iOS

 

Server:

  • Windows 2008 – 2012
  • Microsoft Exchange 2007 – 2016
  • Citrix
  • VMWare

 

Network:

  • Netgear Switches, wireless and Routers
  • Watchguard Firewall Appliances
  • ADSL
  • Leased Lines
  • IPSec and SSL VPN
  • DNS and DHCP
